I've been diagnosed with diabetes.  It's a condition when the blood sugar level in our body is above the normal level.  This is caused by the body not producing enough, or improperly responding to, insulin.  If not treated, it could cause damages to other organs of the body. To check my blood sugar level, I've to go to a laboratory to have it checked. A blood sample is extracted and tested.  The result normally becomes available in the afternoon or the next morning.

Now, I have a portable blood sugar meter.  With it, I could check my blood sugar level anytime I wish.  It was given to my by my sister-in-law.  Her husband, who used it, has expired already and it's just lying around collecting dusts. The meter is still in good order condition and functional. I just bought the batteries (2 triple A's), the lancets, and the electrodes.

Yesterday, I studied how to use it and actually tried it.  Ohm y gosh, my sugar level is still above normal at 144 ml/l.  The normal range is 70 - 105 ml/l.

For every test, however, it would cost me about P44.00. The lancet is P5.00 a piece, while the electrode is P39.00 a piece.

I was traveling this morning on my way to work along the southbound of EDSA (Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue).  The traffic was very heavy from Kamias flyover up to White Plains Avenue.  The flow of traffic was sooooooooooooooooo slow! It took me about an hour to traverse this segment of the highway, which is about four kilometers long only. I just assumed that this traffic was caused by an accident

What’s the cause of the traffic?  I didn’t see any.  But, I saw MMDA trucks parked along the highway loaded with apparently pink fences.

When I arrived at the office, an office mate asked me if I was also caught in the EDSA traffic.  She told me that a dump truck rammed into the pink fences of the loading/unloading bay at Gate 5 early in the morning.  And, the damaged fences were dismantled by the MMDA personnel.

For several days now, my browser, Mozilla Firefox, has been crashing.  When it crashes, the brower closes and the Mozilla Crash Reporter box appears.

When you click the quick or restart button, it will automatically send the report to Mozilla.

My current Firefox is version 3.0.10. And, I’ve just updated it to 3.0.11, hoping it would solve the problem.

I woke up a little late last Friday morning.  Before I took my bath, I went to KarenPot (my car’s name) to get something.  As I approached her, I noticed her rear right wheel was flat.  I immediately got the car manual then studied how to remove and replace the flat tire. Then, I executed what I’ve learned. After removing the flat tire, I checked what the cause was and noticed some unrecognizable metal punctured it.

Before going to work, I passed by a vulcanizing shop and have the hole patched up.  And, do you want to know what the culprit is?  It’s the bow of a broken key.

KarenPot is a 2008 Kia Carens.  Its spare tire is not a regular size tire but compact.  It’s smaller and designed for temporary or emergency use only.  The compact spare tire should be replaced immediately at the first opportunity.

I use word processors a lot in my personal and business transactions, especially the processors that are bundled in Windows.  The latests versions of Windows have Wordpad and Notepad.  Earlier versions of Windows offered Write as one of its word processors.  Write had File Extension WRI.  Wordpad has File Extension RTF (rich text format). Notepad on the other hand has File Extension TXT.

I still have files with File Extension WRI.  And, I was still able to retrieve most of the files that I needed.  Even without Write, files with File Extension WRI can still be used.  You can still open them with Wordpad.  The files, however, cannot be saved as File Extension WRI anymore but as File Extension RTF. Make it sure that you do not save them as .txt.  If you do, you would lose all the formatting.

I'll be celebrating my birthday in less than 3 weeks. I'm getting older again. That's a fact of life; and there's nothing I could do about it. I’m already over the golden age and just enjoying my life. I avoid grouching as much as possible and stay happy. “Don’t worry, be happy.”

It's my birthday; and, my birthday wish is a mobile phone. I'd like to have a Nokia E71 for my personal use. It's been a long time since I bought a mobile phone for me. I've been using my company issued phones both for my official and personal uses.

Nokia E71 is currently being sold at around P16,000.00. There's a cheap version of it. It's E63 and it costs about P11,000.00 only. To make it affordable, some features in the former are not in the latter.  I have yet to decide what phone to buy. Or, maybe someone could give me any of these as birthday present. He he he . . .

Two years ago, my friend started a small business.  On its first year anniversary, he realized that this business had not grown.  Most of the time, his bottom line was just breaking even. Another friend advised him to go online to make his business competitive and profitable.  Although he’s not yet convinced, he’s willing to try it out but didn’t wanted to shell out additional money to be online.  Hence, he resorted to free hosting for his website.

A friend’s buying a notebook. She’s choosing among HP, Lenovo, Acer and Neo brands. After some considerations, she limited her choices to HP and Lenovo only. She thought I'm good and knowledgeable about notebooks and asked for my opinion. “You’ve given me a problem”, I told her.

I compare the two brands and models. Basically, the features are the same. But, after some thoughts, I recommended the HP over the Lenovo brand, design wise and price wise. The former's smaller, sleek and appropriate for a lady; and, it’s P3,000 cheaper at P18,990.

Anyway, her purposes for the notebook are to do word processing & spreadsheets and surf the net only. And, any of these notebooks would amply serve her purposes.  The model of the HP is Mini 1109TU. Oh! I forgot about the Lenovo's.
