Downloading large files would take some time to finish. If it takes so long to download, problem could arise and the download may not be completed. Some problems are power interruption, broken internet connection, computer malfunction, and user's error.
To facilitate and handle multiple downloads, Internet download managers use
File Extension Part. Small files are easily and quickly downloaded than large ones. On this principle, the file being downloaded is being broken into smaller data chunks by the download managers. Then, when the download is completed, it converts back the smaller chunks into original file.
When the downloading is interrupted, download manager will no longer restart but resume the downloading from where it left off. It will read the
File Extension PART and determine the segments of the original file that have already been transferred.
Some download managers that use
File Extension Part are eMule Plus, Go!Zilla, Free Download Manager, and Flash Get.
