If one sees a File Extension PPS, it would immediately think that the file is a Microsoft Power Point Slide Show.  But, not all .pps files are Microsoff Power Point Slide Show.  There are other programs that have File Extension PPS.  So, don’t be confused.  These other programs are ESRI’s Arc View, Corel’s Paint Shop Pro, and Personal Producer Storyboard.  File Extension PPS association with Power Point is the most common being widely used.

Improperly displayed slides to corrupted data are the errors commonly encountered in File Extension PPS.  Microsoft has already issued updates addressing these errors.  If they are encountered, the best thing is to visit the company’s website and apply all updates.

There are also reports that .pps files are susceptible to virus attacks.  Thus, users of File Extension PPS should always scan the file obtained from other source before opening it.
