It’s Easter Sunday – the last day of the 40-day Lenten season.
According to the bible, our Lord Jesus Christ was resurrected on the third day after his crucifixion (on Good Friday). Easter Sunday is also called Resurrection Sunday.
In the Philippines, they celebrated it with a ritual, called “Salubong” (meeting). This is done by two processions, where men and women are separated. Coming from different places, they eventually meet in front of the church. The men are led by the image of the Resurrected Christh, while the women by the image of the Blessed Mother coveed in a black veil.
Easter Bunny and Easter egg hunts have become part of the Easter Sunday celebration.
HAPPY EASTER!
