My Nokia 9300i Communicator has been replaced by a newer communicator model – Nokia E90. I have not tested nor checked yet other brands that are comparable to Nokia’s communicators. But, I think communicators have been very useful to me – both personal and official, especially when I am on the go.
Here are the features that I like most about communicators:
- Ability to access the internet from the unit directly from the network’s internet or through Wi-fi.
- Can be used as a modem when connected to the laptop or desktop.
- Ability to send and receive facsimile
- Ability to send and receive email via Blacberry
- As a mini computer, it has Quick Office – Quickword(word processor), Quicksheet (spreadsheet), Quickpoint (presentation), which are convertible to Microsoft Office.
- The QWERTY Key or Thumbboard, where you can type your messages easily.
- Synchronization of Contacts, Calendars, Notes, and Emails with Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.
- The files and messages can be managed from the laptop or desktop
- Sending of text message can be scheduled
- Call Conference.
E90 has additional features – camera, video, radio, additional My Own key.
I am still exploring my new phone for its new features and the variations of its operations from the 9300i.
